Histories of Religion and Homophobia in Eurasia Conference

The 'Histories of Religion and Homophobia in Eurasia' conference was co-convened by REES Professor Dan Healey and Professor George Chauncey of Colombia University on 11th and 12th April 2019 at St. Antony's College, Oxford. The conference was part of the Fell Fund supported project “Between Russia and Europe: Homophobic Politics and LGBT Activism in Eurasia". The conference brought together scholars to explore what is known about religion and the history of its approaches to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) citizenship in the republics of the Former Soviet Union.
